Short-Term Disability Benefits

Short-Term Disability benefits provide income if you are unable to work because of a non-work-related illness or injury.

Your Benefits

  • Benefits may be paid for up to 26 weeks.
  • Benefits are generally 70% of your gross weekly wages, up to the maximum amount provided by your plan.
  • All BTF Short-Term Disability plans have a seven-day waiting period.
     

Filing a Claim

Effective March 1, 2025, The Hartford handles Short-Term Disability claims for disabilities that began on or after March 1, 2025.
