On January 1st, 2027 The National IAM Benefit Trust Fund will offer dental care options for pregnant and menopausal women through Next Stage™ by Delta Dental. Next Stage™ is a first-of-its-kind, holistic program that supports women’s health needs during pregnancy and menopause. Next Stage™ Women’s Health offers tailored benefits and education to support women’s oral health and overall well-being.
During pregnancy, a spike in progesterone and estrogen can cause various oral health concerns, including gingivitis, gum disease, and loose teeth. When women go through menopause the opposite occurs, where patients can experience a decline in estrogen that affects their oral health as well such as reductions to jaw bone density and even tooth loss. Next Stage™ is designed to support women's oral health during hormonal changes associated with these factors.
